Located on top of a small mountain in the foothills of the Smokies, the project consisted of a new 8 MGD water treatment plant complete, including a raw water pump station, a .5 MG raw water tank, a Pall Microfiltration membrane filter system, an ultraviolet disinfection system, a 1 MG clearwell, a high service pump station, a sodium hypochlorite generation, storage, and feed system, several other water chemical treatment, storage and feed systems, 48” and smaller ductile iron and stainless steel interior and yard piping systems, thousands of feet of PVC and CPVC chemical piping systems, a raw water force main, a high service finished water force main, and an advanced SCADA system. This installation was the one of the first of the membrane filter type in the state of Tennessee, and was the model for subsequent projects.
